MFest After Party 2018

After a day of workshops, panels and performances at the British Library, unwind with comedy and music from Imran Yusuf, Safe Adam and more.

Imran Yusuf
Imran is of East-African Indian descent, born in Mombasa, Kenya but raised in London with a brief stint studying illegally in the USA. Imran has travelled much of the world including Israel/Palestine, Jordan and Saudi Arabia during the Lebanon Crisis in 2006 in an all encompassing pilgrimage for which he quit his job and spent his savings.

Fatumina Abukar
Fatumina is an upcoming singer/songwriter from the UK and in the past three years, she has performed on stage including the West End and was shortlisted for the WISE Rising Star Award. Fatumina is also, a successful henna artist, model and modest fashion influencer. Her quirky bohemian style has attracted the attention of major fashion retailers including House of Fraser. She has also contributed to numerous media broadcasts on national TV, discussing her work, to empower and inspire young Muslim women and to eliminate the negative portrayal of Muslim women in the media.

Lamyaa Hanchaoui is a 23 year old British Moroccan spoken word activist, self taught classical painter, singer and pianist by ear. She graduated in International Relations BA (Hons) and continues to challenge contemporary narratives using creative expression. Lamyaa has shared her voice and spoken word on all manner of platforms from Islam Channel to institutional conferences. She runs poetry workshops and open mic events for her community.

Safe Adam is a British born singer-songwriter of Iraqi heritage. He pursued a career in the music industry after graduation and has since worked with many artists including Ed Sheeran. These fruitful collaborations gave Safe a valuable opportunity to perfect his vocal abilities and song writing skills. He has toured all over the world and performed in front of thousands. He has released two albums, Heart and Praise which debuted at Number One in the UK album World Music Charts. Safe has now pledged to raise funds for Orphan Schools around the world through his new role as Ambassador of Penny Appeal. He tweets at @iamsafeadam
