“the best of you are those who benefit mankind” – Hadith

To acquire knowledge and skills, to work hard, to give back to benefit others – this way of living is central to Islam and, in turn, to becoming an inspiration to others. Muslims rejoice in doing so many of these things every single day across a variety of sectors, more than ever before in Britain. We are creating art, we are helping those less fortunate than ourselves, we are serving others, we are educating, we are building communities and legacies for generations who will come after us.

In honour of all the good we do, Emerald Network has decided that now is the time to celebrate our unsung heroes. We would like to shine a light on their achievements, their ambitions, their successes and their noble intentions. As part of our 15th Anniversary celebrations, Emerald Network invited you to nominate inspirational Muslims. We then curated a list as the ‘Emerald 100′!

The objective behind the initiative stems from as Muslims, our goal should always be to uplift, to elevate and to honour one another and we hope that this celebration of all the goodness and positivity within our communities will help us to move forward towards that shared ambition.

We therefore are proud to showcase a variety of Muslims from diverse backgrounds, heritage and professions who down to those who nominated and we have experienced via our network (eg. attended events, been part of our social media following etc), believe to be inspirational in something they have done or doing. In summary, the ‘Emerald 100’ will be in themselves inspiring Muslims, who in turn are inspiring Muslims and wider communities alike. Check out our Instagram page which in the month of November 2021, ‘Islamophobia Awareness Month’, we will be sharing a series from the ‘Emerald 100’ prior to the publication being publicly available at the end of the month to purchase a copy of the limited edition printed version.

PLEASE NOTE – The original plan was to host a ‘Gallery’ event at the BCBN Gala Dinner – but that has been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions on hosting large events.
