The 2009 Emerald Photography competition is now CLOSED! Following the success of the 2008 Competition, won by Nadia Akbar, England with her images under "Islam in China", we have been taking submissions for this year's competition...
In 2009 - we decided to have an open theme, which aimed to encourage more submissions, bringing out the best talent within the Ummah - whether you are a photo enthusiast, semi-pro or even professional photographer, our panel of judges will select the winner based on creative merit.
The entries received captured people, places, objects, events and emotions - truly expressed creativity through the lens across the Ummah - with entries received from across the World!

Small print
Copyright remains with the photographer with emeraldnetwork having the right to display/print images at emerald events and related emerald media (books/web/newsletters/promotional material) as considered appropriate - with credit/name of the photographer. 100% of profits from sales will go to a nominated charity as announced.
The winner will be announced at the event (emerald team will contact the shortlisted entrants in advance of the event).
